The aim of this project, carried out in tight collaboration with the group of G. Holländer within the Department of Biomedicine, is to culture and manipulate Thymic Epithelial Cells and other cellular components of the thymic microenvironment in a 3D scaffold-based approach. The project will thus paving the road to the establishment of a versatile and functional in vitro model as well as of a thymus graft able to reconstitute an impaired thymic functionality.
